India is observing widespread celebrations to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and his 25-year journey in public service. The festivities are organized under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long campaign of community service running from September 17 to October 17.

Key activities across the country include the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative, where millions of lamps were lit in cities such as Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad to pray for the Prime Minister’s health and longevity. In Vadnagar, the Prime Minister’s birthplace, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in a ceremony at Sharmishtha Lake to commemorate the milestone.

Social welfare initiatives are also central to the celebrations. These include blood donation drives, the distribution of toolkits and sewing machines to artisans in Uttar Pradesh, and the distribution of newborn baby care kits in Chandigarh. In various states, political leaders and citizens have engaged in community outreach, including fruit distribution and support for underprivileged groups, to honor the Prime Minister’s leadership and service.
