India’s Zepto ramps ad spend while Zee Entertainment seeks ₹2.3 trillion capital raise

Quick‑commerce platform Zepto reported advertising and marketing expenses of ₹1,389.12 crore for FY26, a 17 % increase from the previous year. Revenue more than doubled to ₹22,623.58 crore, while the company posted a consolidated net loss of ₹5,905.19 crore. The higher spend was aimed at expanding the user base and strengthening brand awareness as Zepto prepares for a planned public listing.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) announced a board‑approved capital raise of ₹2,300 crore to fund expansion and improve liquidity. The media group, facing stiff competition in the Indian streaming market, cited rising net debt of ₹12,400 crore and the need for financial flexibility. The move caused the stock to slip 2.3 % in early trading, with the final financing method still under consideration.

Both developments highlight aggressive financial strategies by major Indian companies to support growth amid a competitive domestic market.
