IndiGo flight diverted to Lucknow following cargo smoke warning

An IndiGo flight traveling from Agartala to Delhi was diverted to Lucknow on Tuesday evening after a smoke warning was detected in the aircraft’s cargo area. The flight, 6E6504, was carrying 103 passengers and six crew members.

The Airbus A320neo landed safely at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 6:29 pm. During the diversion, flight-tracking data indicated the aircraft used transponder code 7700, signifying a general emergency. Upon landing, airport emergency protocols were activated, deploying fire and rescue teams, medical personnel, and security staff.

Initial inspections of the cargo bay did not find evidence of actual smoke or fire. Technical teams have commenced a detailed investigation to determine the cause of the warning. No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew.
