Individuals honored with Royal Decorations for community service

Two individuals in the Netherlands have been appointed as members of the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of their extensive volunteer work and community service.

Geert van Els from Boxmeer received the royal decoration for his long-term dedication to the De Bokkeschieters Jeu de Boules association, where he maintains the courts. He also provided significant support at the De Hultenhoek residential farm, assisting clients and animals even after his retirement. Additionally, he has provided unpaid assistance to various organizations and individuals, including caregiving and helping with local community tasks.

John Bons from Urmond was honored for his decades of service to local organizations. Since 1979, he has been active with the CV De Waterratte carnival association and has held various leadership and volunteer roles within the Stadssjötterie St. Leendert. His contributions include construction work, maintenance, and serving as a shooting instructor. He also volunteers weekly for the Urmondia football club.
