Indonesia accelerates food aid for 33.2 million families
The Indonesian government is accelerating the distribution of rice food aid to 33.2 million beneficiary families within the Decile 1 to Decile 4 income groups. President Prabowo Subianto approved the acceleration of aid for the October to December 2026 allocation to help maintain purchasing power and meet food needs ahead of the Christmas and New Year period.
Each eligible family will receive a total of 30 kilograms of rice, representing a 10-kilogram monthly allocation. The government has prepared nearly 1 million tons of rice for this initiative. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan stated that the move aims to address public concerns regarding food prices and climate impacts like El Nino.
In addition to the rice aid, the disbursement of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) for the fourth stage is scheduled to begin in early November 2026. Officials are currently conducting data synchronization with the Civil Registry, verifying bank accounts across four state-owned banks (Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BSI), and updating recipient information in the SIKS-NG system.
