Indonesia Accelerates Land Certification for Low-Income Housing in Sidoarjo
The Ministry of Housing and Settlement, together with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and the National Land Agency, held a coordination meeting chaired by the ministers and joined by BP Tapera, BPS, BRI, and the Mayor of Bandung. The participants agreed to fast‑track land‑title certification for low‑income households to strengthen access to mortgage financing.
The government plans to hand over certificates on 10 August 2026 in Sidoarjo, East Java, after finalising beneficiary data and issuing a joint circular. Around 1.1 million houses that received the Housing Stimulus Program (BSPS) still lack titles, and the accelerated certification is presented as a cornerstone for expanding affordable‑housing finance.
BP Tapera affirmed its commitment to support the inter‑agency synergy, noting that legal certainty on land will enable more low‑income families to obtain decent homes through government‑backed loan programs.
