Indonesia accelerates land certification for low‑income households

The Regional Land Office of Bolaang Mongondow (ATR/BPN) announced a request to issue a replacement certificate for a lost land title belonging to Slamet Kohongia in the village of Motabang. The office set a 30‑day period for any objections before finalising the new certificate.

Meanwhile, the national government signed a joint circular (SEB) on 21 July 2026 to speed up land certification for low‑income residents. The agreement, signed by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, the Minister of Housing and Settlements, and the head of the Central Statistics Agency, establishes coordination among ATR/BPN, PKP and BPS. It targets around 1.1 million homes that received housing stimulus assistance between 2015‑2024, with additional batches of 45 000 homes (2025) and 400 000 homes (2026). Minister Nusron Wahid said, "Through the signing of SEB we fully support accelerating land registration to ensure legal certainty for low‑income households."
