Indonesia is managing the aftermath of a major earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which has resulted in 135 deaths, including 48 direct victims and 87 due to indirect impacts. The disaster has displaced approximately 70,382 people and caused damage to nearly 99,000 houses.

In response, President Prabowo Subianto has allocated Rp200 billion in emergency assistance for the region. The Ministry of Finance has confirmed Rp950 billion in ready-to-use disaster management funds. To support medical recovery, the Ministry of Health has deployed a second phase of 160 health reserve workers to Flores, focusing on psychosocial support and mental health services.

Infrastructure recovery is underway, with the Ministry of Public Works reporting that 19 road sections on Flores Island have been restored to functional status. Meanwhile, the Governor of NTT has called for special attention to be given to healthcare workers who were also affected by the earthquake. Separately, volcanic activity remains a concern, with five volcanoes in Indonesia currently at Level III (Alert) status.
