Indonesia accelerates second trial of MLFF contactless toll system
Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo is accelerating the second trial of the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system, a contactless, non-stop toll transaction technology. This second round of testing is necessary because the initial trial did not yield conclusive results regarding the system's success.
If the second trial is successful, the project will move into a semi-commercial phase. During this stage, the technology will be tested under conditions closer to actual operation by installing devices at several specific points. The primary goal is to ensure the technology allows vehicles to complete toll transactions without needing to stop at gates, adhering to the core MLFF concept.
