Indonesia agrees on 2027 Hajj costs at Rp98.46 million per pilgrim

The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the government have agreed on the Hajj Pilgrimage Implementation Cost (BPIH) for the 1448 H/2027 M season. The average cost per pilgrim is set at approximately Rp98,466,351.

Of this total, the direct cost borne by pilgrims (Bipih) is Rp54,648,825, representing 55.50 percent of the total. The remaining 44.50 percent, or approximately Rp43,817,526, will be covered by the benefits derived from Hajj fund management (nilai manfaat).

Due to initial deposits and government subsidies of approximately Rp3.2 million per person, the average final settlement amount for pilgrims in 2027 is expected to be around Rp23,248,825. This is a decrease of roughly Rp3.2 million compared to the 2026 settlement average of Rp26,433,806.

While the reduction in settlement costs provides immediate relief, analysts note that the reliance on Hajj fund management benefits has risen to 44.5 percent for 2027, reversing a previous trend of reducing dependency on these funds to reach a target of 30 percent by 2027.
