Pertamina and Malaysian Ministry Crack Down on LPG Price and Storage Violations

In Palangka Raya, Indonesia, a joint inspection by local trade authorities, Pertamina Patra Niaga and the municipal police found 3‑kg LPG cylinders being sold at prices up to Rp45,000, well above the government‑set ceiling of Rp22,000. Officials said the over‑pricing will be evaluated and may result in sanctions such as warnings, fines or termination of business contracts.

Separately, the Malaysian Ministry of Domestic Trade, KPDN Pahang, seized 829 LPG cylinders and a truck‑trailer worth RM405,338 during a raid on an unlicensed premises. The operation also detained an individual for further investigation. Authorities warned that illegal storage or distribution of controlled commodities will attract heavy fines and possible imprisonment under the 1961 Supply Control Act.
