Indonesia announces BAZNAS and Ministry of Religious Affairs scholarship programs

Two major scholarship programs in Indonesia have announced updated registration details for the 2026 academic year.

Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) has opened applications for the Beasiswa Cendekia BAZNAS (BCB) Domestic program. The scholarship targets active fifth-semester students in Diploma 4 (D4) and Bachelor (S1) programs, with priority given to STEM and SHARE (Social, Humanities, Art for People, Religious Studies, Economics) fields. Benefits include tuition subsidies ranging from Rp4,000,000 to Rp7,000,000 per semester, research funding of Rp3,000,000, and mentorship. Registration is open from September 9 to September 27, 2026, through partner campus internal selection processes.

Separately, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has extended the registration deadline for the BeZakat (Zakat Indonesia Scholarship) program until September 21, 2026. This program is designed for new S1 students for the 2026/2027 academic year. BeZakat operates in collaboration with 21 partner universities, including 10 State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) and 11 State Universities (PTN). The initiative aims to use zakat as a long-term social investment to foster leadership and competence in the younger generation.
