Indonesia Announces Two National Holidays in August 2026

The Indonesian government has confirmed two national holidays for August 2026. Monday, 17 August marks the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, and Tuesday, 25 August is observed as Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW. No joint leave days were scheduled for the month, as stipulated in the joint decree of the three ministers responsible for national holidays and collective leave.

The calendar also lists regular weekend days, allowing citizens to plan long weekends by using a single day of annual leave, for example on Friday, 14 August, which would create a four‑day break that includes the 17 August holiday.
