Indonesia announces winners for 2026 oil and gas block auctions
Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has announced the winners of the first phase of the 2026 oil and gas block auctions. The auction included two direct offering blocks, Sapukala and Natuna D-Alpha, as well as four regular auction blocks: Bengara II, Pesut Mahakam, Puri, and Rupat.
PT Nations Petroleum secured the Natuna D-Alpha block with a signature bonus of US$200,000 and a three-year firm commitment of US$103,309,000. This outcome follows a joint study previously conducted by the Kuwaiti state-owned company KUFPEC in the region.
Other winners include Eni Indonesia Limited for the Sapukala block, Sinopec International Energy Investment (HK) Holdings Limited for Bengara II, and Cinda Energy (Hong Kong) Limited for the Rupat block. PT Timur Hijau Investama won both the Pesut Mahakam and Puri blocks. In total, the six winning blocks represent a combined firm commitment of US$141.51 million and signature bonuses totaling US$1.6 million. Three blocks, Rombebai and Maratua II, remain without winners.
