Indonesia Attorney General raids sites over alleged MBG corruption

The Attorney General's Office of Indonesia (Kejagung) carried out forced searches at six locations in Jakarta, Bandung and other areas as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the free nutritious meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) program overseen by the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional, BGN). Former BGN chief Dadan Hindayana, former deputy Sony Sonjaya and former official Lodewyk Pusung have been named as suspects, along with a private individual linked to the scheme. Investigators seized documents and electronic devices, uncovering procurement irregularities such as the purchase of 21,801 electric motorcycles, 32,000 pairs of shoes, around 31,000 tablets and 5,400 75‑inch televisions, many at inflated prices and outside standard procedures. The alleged misconduct is said to have caused losses amounting to billions of rupiah and violates Articles 603 and 604 in conjunction with Article 20 of Indonesia’s Criminal Code. Kejagung officials said the seized evidence is being analyzed as the raid operation continues.
