Indonesia beats Mozambique 1-0 in Jakarta FIFA Matchday

On 9 June 2026, the Indonesian national football team faced Mozambique at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta during the FIFA Matchday. Indonesia secured a 1‑0 victory.

The decisive goal arrived in the 12th minute when goalkeeper Maarten Paes delivered a long ball, Ragnar Oratmangoen provided a through pass and Ole Romeny finished the move. A second goal was later ruled out after the referee determined that Ivar Jenner had impeded the Mozambican keeper before the ball crossed the line.

Paes made several key saves to preserve the clean sheet, and coach John Herdman praised the win as part of Indonesia’s preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup, stating, “We hope to show it again in the next match.”

After the final whistle, winger Beckham Putra was involved in a confrontation with a spectator who allegedly made an obscene gesture. Teammate Kevin Diks stepped in to calm the situation, and Beckham later posted, “Moal mundur salengkah pun (won’t back down one step).”
