Indonesia Boosts Industry Ties with Russia and Calls for Accurate Economic Census Data

Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita met Russian Ambassador Sergei Tolchenov in Jakarta to discuss Indonesia’s participation in INNOPROM 2026, a major industrial fair in Ekaterinburg, Russia, scheduled for July 2026. The minister said about 50 Indonesian firms from sectors such as food and beverage, machinery, electronics, digital, green energy and export‑oriented manufacturing will attend, seeking new investment, trade and technology‑transfer opportunities. The visit also looked at signing a memorandum of understanding on industrial cooperation and accelerating existing agreements on shipbuilding and safe asbestos research.

In a separate statement, Kartasasmita urged domestic manufacturers, industrial zones and trade associations to submit complete and accurate data for the 2026 Economic Census conducted by Badan Pusat Statistik. He highlighted the role of the National Industrial Information System (SIINas) in providing reliable industry data that underpins policy‑making and supports Indonesia’s industrialisation and competitiveness goals.
