Indonesia launches new youth scholarships and creative talent initiatives

The Bekasi regency in West Java opened registration for 100 Banpin scholarships for high‑performing students, covering tuition at public and private universities from 27 July to 7 August 2026.

BINUS University’s Malang campus announced a scholarship programme that can cover up to 100 % of tuition fees for the 2027/2028 academic year, aiming to nurture digital‑technopreneur talent across East Java and eastern Indonesia.

Indonesia’s Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, urged investment in child talent as a strategy to sustain the creative‑economy workforce, noting that the sector employs 27.4 million workers (18.7 % of total employment) and that the country has 79.9 million children, a demographic bonus for future growth.
