Indonesia completes first wave of Hajj pilgrim return, launches second wave via Madinah

The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that the repatriation of the first wave of Indonesian pilgrims concluded with 245 flight groups carrying 95,178 pilgrims and 977 officials back to Indonesia through King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. The final flight of this wave departed in the early hours of 16 June 2026.

The second wave began at Madinah Airport, where the first group of 21 flight clusters from Kertajati departed, with about 8,500 pilgrims scheduled to return on the first day. By the reporting date, 139 flight groups representing 53,338 pilgrims and 556 staff had already left for the holy city, and a special group of 15,802 pilgrims and staff had also returned. Authorities said the process is proceeding as planned and safety checks are in place for all returning travelers.
