Indonesia deports foreign nationals for immigration violations

Indonesian immigration authorities have deported two foreign nationals for violating residency regulations.

In Parepare, a Malaysian female citizen was deported via sea after overstaying her permit by 101 days. The deportation process took place between August 12 and 14, 2026, following a route from Parepare to Nunukan before she was sent to Tawau, Malaysia. Officials stated the action was taken in accordance with Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration to ensure compliance with national regulations.

Separately, in Madiun, East Java, a Chinese national identified as ZK was deported for overstaying his permit and working illegally. After his temporary stay permit (ITAS) sponsored by a company in Semarang expired on June 27, 2026, the individual reportedly fled and began working as a chef at a restaurant in Madiun.
