Indonesia deports foreigners for visa and permit violations
Indonesian immigration authorities have conducted several deportations of foreign nationals following various regulatory violations. In Balikpapan, nine foreigners were deported between January and October for issues including the misuse of residence permits and overstaying. Officials noted that many violations involved individuals using visas for activities that did not align with their declared purposes.
In Bali, the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center deported eight foreign nationals from Russia, India, Nigeria, the United States, and Bulgaria between late September and early October. The violations cited included prostitution, overstaying, lacking valid travel documents, and failing to pay for goods and meals. Specific cases included a Russian woman and her child who had overstayed by 318 days, and several individuals involved in unauthorized work while on visit visas.
