Indonesia designates three waste‑to‑energy projects in Bekasi, Bogor and Denpasar as strategic national projects

Indonesia’s government has officially classified three waste‑to‑energy (PSEL) facilities in Bekasi, Bogor Raya and Denpasar Raya as Proyek Strategis Nasional (PSN). The designation follows Minister of Coordination Regulation No. 16/2025 and Presidential Regulations No. 35/2018 and No. 109/2025, which integrate integrated waste management into the national strategic agenda.

The projects are being developed by Danantara Investment Management (DIM) and its subsidiary PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera) through three Business Units for Development and Management (BUPP): Bekasi Environment Nusantara, Nusantara Bogor New Energy and Nusantara Bali New Energy. DIM CEO Pandu Sjahrir and Denera CEO Fadli Rahman said the PSN status will accelerate construction, enhance inter‑ministerial coordination, and provide the necessary facilitation to address urban waste challenges, boost renewable energy share, lower emissions and support sustainable city development.
