Indonesia Disburses Social Aid and Payroll Support to Over 18 Million Families and Local Governments

The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs announced that the third‑quarter 2026 disbursement of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Non‑Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) has reached more than 7 million PKH beneficiaries and over 12 million recipients of food assistance. The ministry aims to complete coverage for all roughly 18 million eligible families by August, using updated data from the Central Statistics Agency.

Finance Minister Yudhie Sadewa said the central government will transfer Rp20.5 trillion to 497 local governments by next week to help them meet payroll obligations for permanent and part‑time PPPK staff. He emphasized that the funds are direct assistance, not a regular transfer to the regions, stating, "Itu bukan TKD, tetapi bantuan pemerintah pusat supaya kondisi keuangan daerah lebih stabil."
