Indonesia distributes food aid in Makassar and earthquake relief in East Nusa Tenggara

In South Sulawesi, Perum BULOG and Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) are coordinating the distribution of food assistance in Makassar. For the province, the allocation includes 28,442,670 kilograms of rice intended for 948,089 beneficiaries covering the period from July to September 2026. In Makassar specifically, 89,231 beneficiaries are set to receive a total of 2,676,930 kilograms of rice.

Separately, in East Nusa Tenggara, the humanitarian organization Dompet Dhuafa is providing emergency relief to earthquake survivors in the Manggarai Timur Regency. Through its Disaster Management Center, the organization has delivered food packages and medical services to remote areas such as Bawang Merah Hamlet, which have been difficult to reach due to hilly terrain and limited road access. Approximately 100 residents in these underserved areas have received aid.
