Indonesia's PLN Keeps Electricity Tariff Unchanged for April‑June 2026

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources confirmed that PT PLN (Persero) will maintain the electricity tariff for the April‑June 2026 period, citing macro‑economic stability and consumer purchasing power. PLNs senior officials stressed that the decision follows a detailed review of exchange rates, crude oil prices, inflation and coal costs, and urged households to use electricity efficiently.

PLN reiterated that any increase in customers' bills is due to higher consumption rather than a tariff hike, pointing to factors such as hotter weather, increased indoor activity and the use of more electrical appliances. The company highlighted its mobile app, PLN Mobile, which lets users monitor usage and token purchases.

Separately, PLN announced a scheduled power outage on 4 June 2026 affecting parts of East Bali, including Mengwi, Sanur and Kuta, as part of network maintenance and reliability upgrades. The utility asked residents to prepare for temporary interruptions.

A promotional offer for a 50 percent electricity discount in June 2026 was also publicised, subject to eligibility criteria.
