Indonesia expands dual vocational education and launches MagangHub apprenticeship program

On 11 June 2026, global instrumentation firm Endress+Hauser hosted an Education Forum in Jakarta to promote dual vocational education. The event brought together industry leaders, educators and strategic partners to discuss curricula that better equip graduates for the demands of modern manufacturing. Endress+Hauser Indonesia reported a 40 % growth in five years, a 4 % rise in job opportunities and a 10 % increase in internship participants, underscoring the company’s push for a more skilled workforce.

Deputy Minister of Labour Afriansyah Noormenggala highlighted that a university diploma alone no longer satisfies employers. He announced the nationally funded MagangHub apprenticeship scheme, backed by a Rp 4.14 trillion budget, to place fresh graduates in on‑the‑job training, provide stipends, social‑security coverage, mentorship and nationally recognised certification. The programme aims to narrow the skill gap as Indonesia’s open unemployment rate stood at 4.68 % in February 2026.
