Indonesia expands KUR microcredit to support fisheries and MSMEs
The Indonesian government is optimizing the People's Business Credit (KUR) program to boost productivity in the fisheries and MSME sectors. Nationally, KUR distribution reached Rp240.96 trillion as of September 30, 2026, with the fisheries sector accounting for Rp3.73 trillion.
In West Nusa Tenggara, KUR distribution totaled Rp4.8 trillion. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has realized Rp10.39 trillion in KUR distribution, reaching 69,995 debtors. In Awang Village, Central Lombok, BSI provided Rp13.6 billion to 160 fishermen to support coastal livelihoods.
In West Kalimantan, the Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurrahman, expressed support for increasing Bank Kalbar’s KUR allocation to Rp1 trillion by 2027. This follows an increase from Rp700 billion in 2025 to Rp800 billion in 2026. The expansion aims to broaden capital access for local entrepreneurs, particularly in tourism-based areas like Singkawang, provided the bank maintains sufficient liquidity.
