Indonesia Finance Minister Purbaya Proposes 2027 Budget of Rp49.8 Trillion

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced an indicative budget of Rp49.8 trillion for the 2027 fiscal year, roughly unchanged from the current year's level after efficiency adjustments. The proposal includes allocations for seven State-Owned Service Agencies (BLU) and, without those agencies, the core Ministry of Finance budget would be Rp39.42 trillion.

The budget is divided into three main functions: public service funding of Rp45.52 trillion, economic initiatives of Rp284.71 billion, and education spending of Rp3.99 trillion. It is intended to support the National Priority Work Program (PKPN) and several strategic government activities, such as fiscal policy and financial sector reforms, expanding basic education to 514 rakyat schools, strengthening maritime patrol and export promotion, and assisting village cooperatives and local governments.

Purbaya highlighted recent fiscal performance, noting that revenue reached Rp1,185 trillion by May 2026—a 19.1 % rise year‑on‑year—while expenditures rose 34.4 % to Rp1,365.4 trillion, driven by accelerated spending, improved oversight and efficiency measures.
