Indonesia Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa Sets 2027 Fiscal Targets

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa outlined Indonesia’s fiscal framework for the 2027 budget. The plan targets a primary deficit of 1.8%‑2.4% of GDP, with revenue projected at 11.82%‑12.40% of GDP and spending at 13.62%‑14.80% of GDP. Eight priority clusters comprising 60 national programs will guide spending, covering food sovereignty, energy and water independence, education, health, industrialisation, infrastructure and disaster resilience, village development, and poverty reduction. Supporting enablers include defence, security, law enforcement, governance, digitalisation and economic diplomacy.

The government aims to keep inflation between 1.5% and 3.5%, support economic growth of 5.8%‑6.5%, maintain a stable rupiah exchange rate and manage financing through innovative schemes such as sovereign wealth funds, special mission vehicles and public‑service enterprises.
