Indonesia food commodity prices show fluctuations in October 2026

Data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS) indicates fluctuations in essential commodity prices in Indonesia around mid-October 2026.

Reports show varying trends for chili varieties. While some data points suggest red bird's eye chili prices reached approximately Rp100,800 to Rp119,250 per kg, other reports noted recent decreases from previous highs. Green bird's eye chili and large red chili prices also showed volatility.

Protein and staple goods experienced mixed movements. Beef and chicken prices showed signs of decreasing in some reports, with beef priced between Rp144,850 and Rp159,250 per kg. Egg prices were recorded around Rp28,400 to Rp29,100 per kg. Rice prices varied by quality, with premium and medium grades ranging from approximately Rp14,750 to Rp17,700 per kg. Other commodities such as shallots, garlic, sugar, and cooking oil also saw price adjustments during this period.
