Indonesia forecasts rain and strong winds for Jakarta region and Southeast Sulawesi

The Indonesian Meteorological, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) warned that the Jakarta metropolitan area (Jabodetabek) will experience mainly cloudy skies on 12–13 June 2026, with a chance of light rain in South Jakarta and expanding to East Jakarta and the Kepulauan Seribu on the second day. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 34 °C in the hottest spots, prompting advice to stay hydrated and protect against heat exposure.

In Southeast Sulawesi, BMKG issued a forecast for 11 June 2026 indicating moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 20 km/h across districts such as Konawe, Kolaka, Bombana and the surrounding islands. The agency highlighted risks of flooding, landslides and falling trees, urging residents in low‑lying and slope‑prone areas to stay alert and follow official updates.
