Indonesia’s Pertamina Secures Fuel Supply and Holds Prices Amid Rising Global Oil Costs

Pertamina has completed loading 63 kl of fuel for delivery to Banda Neira, a shipment expected to cover about 25 days of consumption after securing the required sailing permit and confirming safe weather conditions. The company coordinated with port authorities, regional governments and transport operators to ensure the distribution proceeds smoothly.

President Prabowo Subianto asked the finance ministry to run new simulations of a possible rise in world oil prices, aiming to protect the state budget and keep subsidised fuel prices stable. The government currently assumes a reference crude price of US$100 per barrel for its fiscal planning, while the Indonesian Crude Price averaged US$91.9 per barrel in the first half of 2026.

The Ministry of Energy confirmed that national fuel reserves remain above the minimum required level, guaranteeing nationwide supply. A recent disruption in North Sumatra was linked to alleged fraud by transport drivers, not to a shortage of stock, and authorities are pursuing legal action.

Fuel prices across Indonesia stayed unchanged on 26 July 2026. Non‑subsidised products such as Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex and Dexlite were reduced earlier in July to Rp19,300, Rp21,150 and Rp19,700 per litre respectively, while subsidised fuels like Pertalite and Pertamax kept their rates at Rp10,000 and Rp16,250 per litre.
