Indonesia fuel supply delays hit West Sumatra as prices adjust

Fuel distribution in West Sumatra has been disrupted after traffic congestion on key truck routes, including Padang–Solok via Sitinjau Lauik, Padang–Painan near the Jeruai bridge works, and the Lembah Anai corridor. The ESDM Sumbar chief, Helmi Heriyanto, said tank trucks were waiting two to three hours, leading to limited fuel at many stations and long vehicle queues.

Separately, Pertamina announced a price adjustment for non‑subsidised fuels effective 1 July 2026, lowering the cost of Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite and DEX diesel. The change follows a false social‑media claim that all fuel types would drop by Rp 3 100. Pertamina clarified that regular Pertamax prices remain unchanged, and the adjustment reflects global oil prices, fiscal considerations and consumer purchasing power.

Both developments affect Indonesia’s fuel market, with supply bottlenecks in Sumatra and revised pricing for certain gasoline and diesel products nationwide.
