Indonesia implements new Hajj regulations and subsidies for 2027

Indonesia is implementing several administrative and financial measures regarding the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. The government and the House of Representatives (DPR RI) have agreed on the 2027 Hajj Organizing Fee (BPIH), which is set at Rp98,466,351 per pilgrim. Through a government subsidy of approximately Rp3.2 million, the effective final payment for regular pilgrims is expected to be around Rp23 million.

To improve management, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is integrating population data (NIK) with pilgrimage records to prevent identity manipulation, fraudulent proxy services, and the illegal sale of pilgrimage slots. Additionally, the Ministry of Health is reviewing standardized fee ranges for pilgrim health examinations to prevent significant cost disparities between different medical facilities.

In a separate enforcement action, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revoked the operational license of KBIHU Al-Fatah in Purwakarta. The organization was found to have falsified data regarding 'dam' and 'badal' Hajj services and charged fees exceeding official regulations during the 2026 pilgrimage season. The group is required to cease all activities and return the rights of the pilgrims they were guiding.
