Indonesia Hajj pilgrims return safely after Saudia flight delay, ministry urges passport vigilance

The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that the Saudia Airlines flight SV‑5288, carrying the KJT‑04 pilgrim group from Jeddah, experienced a technical problem that postponed its departure. After repairs, the aircraft left at 02:19 Saudi time and brought 439 pilgrims safely to Lampung, Indonesia.

In a separate briefing, the ministry reminded all returning pilgrims to protect their passports, warning that loss could delay repatriation. The advisory was issued as the return phase continued, with 391 pilgrims from Makassar arriving via Sultan Hasanuddin Airport. To date, 44 groups comprising 17,445 pilgrims and officials have departed Saudi Arabia, and 38 groups with 15,086 individuals have landed in Indonesia.
