Indonesia Health Minister discusses BPJS fees and screening programs

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has stated there are currently no plans to increase BPJS Kesehatan contribution rates. The government has committed to supporting the program should any deficits occur. Current contribution schemes remain governed by Presidential Regulations, with rates for wage recipients (PPU) set at 5% of monthly wages, split between employers (4%) and employees (1%).

Regarding national health initiatives, the Free Health Check (CKG) program has successfully transitioned from simple screening to active case management. Out of 8.3 million detected cases of diabetes and hypertension, approximately 907,000 individuals have begun receiving treatment. The ministry aims to increase life expectancy from 72 to 76 years through these interventions, targeting an 80 percent treatment rate for identified hypertension patients.
