Indonesia Holds Electricity Tariffs Steady for Q3 2026

Government Communications Head Muhammad Qodari announced that Indonesia will keep electricity tariffs for non‑subsidised customers unchanged for the July‑September 2026 quarter. Although the tariff‑adjustment mechanism points to a rise—based on recent movements in the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price, inflation and coal prices—the government chose not to increase rates to preserve economic stability and consumer purchasing power.

The decision also maintains current subsidies for 24 categories of low‑income, small‑business and industrial customers. It follows the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Regulation No 7/2024, which requires tariff reviews every three months. Officials say the policy provides certainty for businesses planning production and investment.

Qodari emphasized that keeping tariffs steady aims to give the public confidence and support the broader national economy amid ongoing global economic dynamics.
