Indonesia's Ministries Use Sports Tournaments to Boost Inter‑Agency Cooperation

The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR/BPN) fielded a team in the Governor's Cup Tennis Tournament in Jakarta on 1‑2 August 2026, a competition that gathered 16 teams from ministries, state‑owned enterprises and regional governments. According to staff expert Dwi Budi Martono, the event is intended to improve communication and coordination among government bodies.

The Kapolri Cup 2026 badminton championship, held on 1 August 2026, also served as a venue for inter‑agency networking. Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo partnered with Widi Chandra Kasih to face Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and his partner Ahmad. The tournament was highlighted by Irjen Pol. Ahmad Ramadhan as a platform to strengthen ties between ministries, the armed forces and the judiciary, with participation from ministers, deputy ministers, senior police, military officers and prosecutors.
