Indonesia hosts UMKM festivals in Jakarta and East Kalimantan to boost micro‑businesses

Bank BRI’s Balikpapan Sudirman branch supported a Festival of Ease and Protection for Micro Enterprises on 17 June in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. Around 1,000 micro‑business owners attended and met government officials, including Governor Rudy Mas'ud, and bank representatives who highlighted access to financing, digital services and business‑development counseling.

In Jakarta, the Provincial Government marked the “Bulan Bung Karno” with a one‑day youth and UMKM festival at Taman Proklamasi. The event featured a morning exercise program, a UMKM market, children’s games, a fashion show and performances by national music groups. It was attended by President Joko Widodo’s daughter Megawati Soekarnoputri, Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno, underscoring the link between cultural remembrance and support for small enterprises.
