Indonesia Housing Minister emphasizes material quality for Gentengisasi program

Maruarar Sirait, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, has emphasized the necessity of maintaining high material quality for the Gentengisasi program. The initiative, which targets West Java, Central Java, and East Java, aims to improve housing quality by utilizing roof tiles produced by local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Minister Sirait stated that all tiles must meet established quality standards to ensure optimal benefits for the community and to encourage local artisans to increase production capacity. The program is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic tile industry while empowering local businesses.

The Minister noted that the Gentengisasi program, initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, creates a positive economic domino effect. This includes financial benefits for a wide economic chain, ranging from tile artisans to truck drivers and assistants. To ensure success, the Ministry will strengthen coordination with local governments to manage production readiness, quality standards, and targeted distribution.
