Indonesia implements MSME support through incentives and certification

Indonesia is implementing several initiatives to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Ministry of MSMEs is finalizing regulations to provide a minimum 50% discount on marketplace service fees for MSME merchants and resellers. To qualify, businesses must apply through the SAPA UMKM application system and undergo administrative verification.

In North Kalimantan, MSMEs have secured business agreements totaling nearly Rp3 billion through export market expansion and digital platform utilization. Notable successes include chocolate products from Bulungan and batik crafts. Additionally, 30 MSMEs in the region have participated in digital incubation programs focusing on artificial intelligence and digital marketing.

In Ponorogo, East Java, the local government is promoting halal certification to increase the competitiveness of local culinary products. Following the designation of specific areas as 'halal villages,' the program aims to provide consumer certainty and expand market access, while supporting the development of local gastronomy tourism.
