Indonesia increases 2026 home renovation target to 400,000 units

The Indonesian government has significantly increased its target for the home renovation program (BSPS) to 400,000 units for 2026, up from a previous target of 45,000 units. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, announced the expansion as part of broader efforts to improve housing access.

President Prabowo Subianto reported that the '3 Million Houses Program' has already realized approximately 440,000 units, largely driven by the acceleration of the home renovation initiative. This program aims to provide decent housing for low-income communities through new construction, subsidized financing, and the improvement of uninhabitable homes.

The government utilizes two primary schemes: the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) for subsidized home ownership and the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) for renovations. As of mid-October 2026, FLPP distribution reached 180,600 units toward an annual target of 350,000.
