Indonesia Judicial Oversight Body Recommends Sanctions for 121 Judges
The Judicial Oversight Commission (Komisi Yudisial) confirmed that 121 judges violated the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Judges (KEPPH) before a 280 % salary increase took effect. The violations were identified during the first semester of 2026, with the commission recommending disciplinary actions ranging from warnings to heavy sanctions.
Commission member Abhan Misbah said the findings were based on 1,402 public complaints received between January and June 2026, of which 740 alleged KEPPH breaches. After verification, 121 judges were found guilty, prompting the commission to propose penalties to the Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung) to uphold judicial integrity.
