Indonesia Keeps Minyakita Cooking Oil Price at Rp15,700 per Liter

The Indonesian government decided to maintain the maximum retail price (HET) for Minyakita cooking oil at Rp15,700 per litre. DPR Commission VI member Nasim Khan (PKB) praised the decision as a direct support for households and micro‑, small‑ and medium‑size enterprises (UMKM) that rely on the subsidised oil. Khan urged that the price ceiling must be accompanied by stricter monitoring of distribution, calling on district authorities in Bondowoso, Situbondo and other regions to prevent over‑pricing, hoarding and speculative price‑gaming. He warned that in several areas oil is already being sold above the ceiling, indicating gaps in the supply chain that could hurt low‑income consumers and small businesses. The Ministry of Trade, citing stable crude palm oil (CPO) indicators, said no adjustment was needed at this time, aiming to preserve market stability while urging law‑enforcement to act against violators.
