Indonesia labor agencies launch training and protection initiatives

Indonesian labor departments are implementing various initiatives to reduce unemployment and improve worker protections. In Depok, the local Manpower Office (Disnaker) has partnered with LPK Koba Mirai Japan to train residents for driving positions in Japan. The program aims to place 1,000 workers over five years, providing six months of training in Japanese language, road safety, and immigration procedures.

In Lampung, authorities reported on labor protections following 110 complaints, including five workplace accidents. In one instance involving a fatality at Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, management provided compensation of Rp194,905,672 to the victim's family.

Additionally, the Bantul Vocational Training Center (BLK) is conducting specialized training programs in mobile phone assembly and office administration. These 30-day courses are designed to equip local residents with technical and managerial skills to improve employability or support entrepreneurship.
