Indonesia launches centralized scholarship portal and expands student aid
Indonesia is implementing new measures to improve access to higher education through centralized information and private sector support. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) has launched 'SatuBeasiswa Indonesia,' a digital ecosystem designed to serve as a centralized national portal. The platform connects scholarship seekers with various providers, including central and local governments, industries, foundations, and international entities. Currently, the portal features 71 verified programs, such as the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) and Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI).
In a separate initiative, McDonald's Indonesia, in collaboration with the Yayasan Alumni Peduli IPB (YAPI), has provided the 'Beasiswa Pendidikan Tinggi McD' to 35 new students at IPB University. This program supports students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds during their first two semesters of university. The initiative aims to assist students during their academic transition while offering exposure to professional environments through training and direct experience.
