Indonesia launches clean‑water projects in South Sumatra and Central Java

PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) and the National Village Council Association (ABPEDNAS) inaugurated a new well supplying safe drinking water to the residents of Desa Pulau Semambu in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, on 27 June. The ceremony, part of SUCOFINDO’s 70‑year CSR programme, featured a plaque signing by ABPEDNAS officials and SUCOFINDO executives and aims to improve health, productivity and long‑term wellbeing in the village.

In Semarang, Central Java, the city’s disaster‑management agency (BPBD) prepared roughly 900 000 liters of clean water for neighborhoods identified as drought‑prone. Seven water‑tank units have already been distributed, and an additional 100 tanks are on standby. The operation combines municipal funding with corporate social‑responsibility contributions to ensure water supply during the dry season.
