ETLE Hub ODOL vehicles overloading transportation safety electronic traffic law enforcement

Indonesian Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has launched the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement Hub (ETLE Hub) to combat over-dimension and over-loading (ODOL) vehicles. The technology-based system aims to improve national transportation safety, reduce road and bridge damage, and minimize traffic accidents.

The ETLE Hub integrates with Weight in Motion (WIM) technology to record vehicle data, dimensions, loads, and violations. This provides an accountable and transparent way to document infractions for periodic government evaluation. The system is intended to support the national agenda of reaching "zero ODOL" status by 2027.

Minister Purwagandhi emphasized that addressing ODOL issues requires a comprehensive approach from upstream to downstream, involving collaboration between ministries, local governments, toll road operators, logistics companies, and cargo owners. He noted that responsibility does not rest solely with drivers but extends to the entire freight ecosystem to ensure compliance with weight and dimension regulations.
