Indonesia launches first cohort of National Integrated Schools
The Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has launched the first cohort of the National Integrated School (SNT) program. A total of 1,360 students, split equally between junior and senior high school levels, are beginning their Friendly School Orientation Period (MPLS) across 17 operational locations.
Out of 2,068 applicants, 1,360 students successfully passed the new student admission selection process. To support the program, the ministry has selected 17 principals from 1,800 applicants and recruited 204 teachers and learning assistants from a pool of 60,000 pre-service teachers.
While 37 SNT locations are slated for construction this year following verification of proposals from 114 districts, 17 schools are already operational for the 2026/2027 academic year. The ministry is also providing a Learning Management System (LMS) featuring digital teaching materials and classroom tools to facilitate learning.
