Indonesia launches new Makassar Creative Hub and boosts Aceh entrepreneurship program

Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin inaugurated the Makassar Creative Hub (MCH) Nusantara on 26 July 2026, marking the city’s second dedicated space for creative collaboration, innovation and youth‑focused economic activity. The opening ceremony featured officials from the Digital Ecosystem Development Team, the Ministry of Communication and Digital, and local cultural agencies. The hub is intended to provide infrastructure for digital arts, cultural projects, entrepreneurship training and job‑matching services for young people.

The Ministry of Creative Economy and Culture (Kemenekraf) announced a parallel initiative in Aceh, partnering with the AMANAH foundation to develop entrepreneurship talent through the province’s Creative Hub and the Creative by Indonesia programme. The effort will deliver capacity‑building, mentorship and market‑access support targeting crafts, fashion and digital content sectors, aiming to commercialise local products, attract funding and raise the profile of Aceh’s creative businesses.
